So Independence Day is coming and i cant help but feel patriotic about my country. There are a lot of things one could crib about ,but we will not go into that today.I am proud to be an Indian. In fact, you might know this already,Christopher Columbus was looking for India when he accidently found America(that is why the original folks there are called Red Indians).Though some might sulk about the problems in India but i can think of reasons more than the no. of people here which make me feel proud about my home land.. (The population runs in billions,so more than a billion reasons dude...soo whatever). Here, we go.
One doesn't chose the country one is born in.The country chooses us. And i am lucky to be born in this rich, multicutlural, multiethnic, diverse nation. So lets start this post with one of the best scenes from the movie Namastey London...which remains etched in my memory because of the big katta that happens...

So, although Independence day has lost it's relevance to most of today's generation but i feel this is the time for everyone to feel proud of what our country has achieved till now and also try to figure out what independence means to each of us personally. At the personal level, i feel a liberal outlook towards everything and an open unprejudiced mind towards all issues is what we should strive for.Only then we will be a truly independent nation with independent minds.
So starting now remove the chains that restrict your mind.Be free.Stay happy.:)
Peace to all and happy independence day !!
